🍝 PASTA LOVERS' GUIDE TO MILAN 🍝
Click on the image to see the location on Google Maps
• Pasta Fresca Brambilla | Via Melzo, 2 | Fresh pasta on a favorite street: This is one of the oldest pasta shops in Milan. It was founded in 1969 by Mrs. Mariarosa Brambilla. Now the management has passed to her daughter, Stefania.
• Pastamadre | Via Bernardino Corio, 8 | Pasta (and more) and sauce in season: Pastamadre is a restaurant in the center of Milan, just a few meters from Porta Romana, but it's also a café and pastry shop that uses 'pasta madre': also known as 'natural yeast,' it is a dough made from flour and water that ferments naturally.
• Zibo | Via Caminadella, 21 | The carbonara in ravioli form is top notch:
The full name is 'Zibo Cuochi Itineranti', because before becoming a real restaurant at Via Caminadella 21, they were a food truck... And when high-quality ingredients meet excellent service, success is bound to follow, more stable than a food truck.
• Volemose Bene | Via della Moscova, 25 | Roman classics in Milan:
The typical Roman Osteria in the heart of Brera, on Via Moscova. From Bucatini all'amatriciana to saltimbocca, from lamb to tonnarelli cacio e pepe, from artichokes alla giudia to oxtail alla vaccinara and Roman-style tripe
• Bottega Farina | Via Bartolomeo Eustachi, 38 | Small place, big portions:
Bottega Farina, because it truly is a 'bottega': a small shopfront on Via Eustachi where the pasta is handcrafted on-site – from the open kitchen window, you can actually see the pasta-making machine in action.
• Felice a Testaccio | Via del Torchio, 4 | Roman favorite with the great classics:
Felice a Testaccio is a historic Roman restaurant, established in 1936, now also open in Milan. Its signature dishes, which have won over Americans and Japanese alike, include carbonara and cacio e pepe, with the tonnarelli expertly tossed at the table.

• Da Zero | Via Bernardino Luini, 9 | My neighborhood pizzeria that always delivers: Da Zero is located right in the historic city center and is rapidly climbing Milan's ranking of the best pizzerias
• Crosta | Via Felice Bellotti, 13 | Incredible base and innovative topping: It's a paradise of flavors. Calling it a restaurant would be an understatement because it blends at least three formats. It's a bakery, it's a pizzeria, it's also somewhat of a pastry shop, and a restaurant. If you look closely, it's even a bit of a bar.
• Assaje | Largo la Foppa, 1 | Can't book a table, but worth queuing for:
Contemporary Neapolitan-style gourmet pizzeria.
• Giolina | Via Felice Bellotti, 6 | Good pizzas, cozy place:
Opened in April 2019, Giolina is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria, distinguished by a certain refinement in the selection of ingredients
• Lievità | Piazza Vetra, 13 | Gourmet pizzas – the one with pumpkin cream is incredible
• Berberè | Corso di Porta Ticinese, 1 | A crunchier bottom than the others
• Marghe | Via Plinio, 6 | If you're nice, they might shape your pizza into a heart
• Modus | Via Andrea Maffei, 12 | Gourmet pizza and more
• Dry | Via Solferino, 33 | Incredible pizzas, good drinks
• Biga | Via Alessandro Volta, 20 | Try their padellino Nerano 2.0

• A Campari at Camparino in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the historic bar where the bitter that conquered the world was launched
• My favourite place for breakfast (the best best croissant with cream in the whole city) is Pasticceria Sissi at Piazza Risorgimento 6
• Max Mariola a social chef with millions of followers, is the star of a restaurant that serves authentic Roman cuisine and prepares carbonara live at your table (and charges well for it!)
ICONIC DISTRICTS OF MILAN
Below, you'll find some suggestions for areas to explore, whether for a stroll or, even better, for an aperitif or dinner.
• Brera •
If you’ve never been there, one area I recommend is Brera. It’s one of those neighborhoods full of life but with a calm, timeless charm. Super romantic and bohemian! Below you'll find the link to the Google map with a fantastic itinerary
If you're in the Brera area, you absolutely have to check out Drymilano.
Out-of-this-world pizza accompanied by unique cocktails and, of course, beautiful people (it’s Milan 😁)
• Porta Venezia •
Another really nice area for the evening is Porta Venezia: full of unique and alternative venues. The streets around Piazza Bellintani and Via Lecco are packed with places to stop for a drink or something to eat.
• Moscova •
Another perfect area for an aperitif is Moscova, particularly Corso Garibaldi. It’s a street full of bars and restaurants that are always very busy.
If you like modern architecture, make sure to visit Piazza Gae Aulenti, just a stone's throw from Moscova, where you can see the famous Bosco Verticale, a complex of skyscrapers covered in plants and trees. They are really unique and have even won awards for their super innovative design. From there, if you want to continue, you can take a walk towards Corso Como, another lively area perfect for continuing your evening.
I hope these tips are useful and that you enjoy Milan to the fullest!
DISCOVER MILANO IN 1 DAY!
Here's an itinerary designed for first-time visitors or those who've always seen Milan as just a business city and are finally giving it the attention it deserves.
Let's dive in!
• The Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano): This iconic and super-photogenic spot kicks off your day in Milan.
• Right next to the Duomo, you'll find the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of Milan's most charming and popular spots. Originally Italy's first shopping mall, it's decked out with historic decorations that scream historical importance.
• During your visit, you absolutely can't miss the Fashion Quadrilateral, renowned worldwide for its unmatched luxury shopping. It's named after the four main streets that border it: Via Montenapoleone, Via Alessandro Manzoni, Via della Spiga, and Corso Venezia.
• San Lorenzo Columns, remnants from ancient Roman times, aren't just a historic monument; they're also a key meeting spot for locals.
• Nestled in Milan's heart, Santa Maria delle Grazie Basilica houses Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper in its stunning courtyard. It's undeniably one of the most famous paintings ever, capturing the moment Jesus predicts betrayal by one of his disciples and their reactions.
• Next up, Sforza Castle transports you to another era as soon as you step inside its imposing walls. Check out the Armory Courtyard for an open-air museum experience with late Roman stone sarcophagi, and don't miss the medieval moat as you head towards the Ducal Courtyard.
• Brera district, also known as the artists' quarter, will win you over with its romance and picturesque cobblestone streets. Among its many attractions, Palazzo Brera stands out. If you're in the area, you can't resist a visit to the Brera Art Gallery, one of Italy's first public art museums.
• Amidst shops, restaurants, and skyscrapers, Piazza Gae Aulenti symbolizes modern Milan—a place that embodies its transformation from city to metropolis. Not far off, the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest) rises uniquely with its residential complex adorned by shrubs and trees growing on its exterior.
• If you arrive by train, your first stop is near the central station. Dedicated to journalist Indro Montanelli, it's the city's first public park.
• Among the many museums Milan offers, I highly recommend exploring "Dialogo nel Buio" (Dialogue in the Dark). This incredible experience takes place at the Institute for the Blind, offering a truly unique sensory journey.
IN CASE OF POWER OUTAGE
The apartment currently supports up to 3 kWh of power, so if you turn on too many appliances at the same time, you might exceed this limit and cause a power outage. If this happens, you can restore it from the electrical panel in the basement, using the key located near the entrance.
